Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee this week announced that the Cook Islands Beach Games will be returning to Rarotonga next year after proving to be one of the biggest sporting events of 2020 during border closures.
A send off to the rollercoaster ride that was the 2020 Olympics campaign took place at the Waterline Restaurant - a successful end to the big year that saw two of the nation’s youngest athletes come home with big achievements.
Young and promising athletes tore up the track at the National Stadium yesterday in the National Youth Athletics Championships. Races and other events kicked off at 8:30am and ended at 2pm. It had about 150 athletes aged 12 to 18 competing.
