Local junior tennis players to compete in Auckland tourney

Cook Islands tennis junior representatives will compete in the upcoming Regional Tier Two tournament of the Tennis Auckland Championships 2020.

 

The tournament will be held from January 9 to 13 at Scarbro Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand.

National coach Malcolm Kajer and members of the team including manager Jackie Rongo departed Rarotonga on Sunday.

Yesterday they took time out to acclimatise to the conditions in Auckland and also get some practice before the tournament starts tomorrow.

All age groups will be played at Scarbro Tennis Centre, including additional courts at the Auckland Netball Centre.

The tennis players are: Kayla Marama Fraser, Maiata Forsyth, Raetea Rongo, Arikitoa Allsworth, Luke Pierre, Frederick Estall and Daniel Forsyth.

Meanwhile Moana Une will represent the Pacific Oceania team in the Albury Wodonga Tournament in Melbourne, from January 9.
