Rowena Newbigging and Kris Williamson took out the men’s and women’s titles at the recent Palm Grove Golf Tournament held at the Rarotonga Golf Club.

Around 100 competitors have turned to take part in the tournament over the past three weekends.

In the latest outing in the local battle between Kristopher Williamson and William Howard, it was Williamson who came out on top.

The Rarotonga Golf Club wish to thank Betsy Eisler and Grant Walker for their generosity in sponsoring the event.

Rarotonga Golf Club president George George said that the extent of the support was much appreciated.

“Thank you to Palm Grove for sponsoring three Saturdays in a row where members of the RGC thoroughly enjoyed the many prizes that were on offer.

“I guess Betsy being a golfer herself, she understands our ‘beautiful game’ and that’s probably why we are so lucky to have their support. Having a sponsor stick with us over three consecutive weekends is a rarity.”

George also said that on behalf of the RGC executives, the club wished to congratulate all the tournament winner.

Next up at the RGC is the Islander’s Metua Ellis Memorial Tournament this Saturday, with the first tee off at 9am.
