The fundraiser, which will start with registration at 1pm, will be held at the National Tennis Court in Nikao.
National Tennis head coach Malcolm Kajer said they would have doubles matches with mixed partners in every round. A total of five rounds with a score up to 21 will be played, he said.
“This fundraiser is to assist our junior squad travelling to Lautoka, Fiji, for the Pacific Oceania Junior Championship. The team will leave the country on July 20,” Kajer said.
“We have five of our junior players who have qualified for this event and they are Maka Maui, Christopher Neururer, Katee Wearing, Dreena Teapa and Takaiti Toa.”
Maui, who has been selected as part of the Pacific team to participate in the Brisbane Junior Champs early next month, will have a good hit-out session before the Fiji event.
“Maka will arrive back to Rarotonga on July 17 and will leave for Fiji with the rest of the players on July 20.”
The entry fee to participate in this Saturday’s fundraiser is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
“Anyone capable of playing tennis, even with basic knowledge, is most welcome to participate.”
