Beach handball has again taken centre stage at the 2023 Cook Islands Beach Games.

Beach netball, beach touch, AirBadminton and beach volleyball competitions wrapped up in the opening week with beach handball, 3x3 basketball and beach football to be held this week.

Yesterday saw day two of the beach handball action at Nikao with teams Red Bulls, IDK, Manihiki, Purple Pride, Nukz Power, Outlaws, Portugal and Mighty Mermans all fighting out in the sand.

At the end of day one, in Pool A, team IDK was out in front with six points ahead of Outlaws, Manihiki and Red Bulls.

In Pool B, Mighty Mermans were first placed with six points ahead of Portugal, Purple Pride and Nukz Power.

The 3x3 basketball will be held from January 17 to 19 followed by beach football which will kick start on January 19 and run until January 21.
