Apii Avarua is holding its first school art exhibition project which features vibrant works of colour created by the students since the beginning of this term.

Year 8 students Margaret William, Lurlin Tekorona and Reaia Van Eijk were admiring the many works of art displayed and were proud to pose with the Year 8 “wearable arts” project made from recycled Cook Islands News newspapers.

“I really enjoyed this art project of ours, it was a lot of fun,” said William.

The art exhibition is the vision of Metua Vavia, the school’s head of art curriculum.

“I’m so happy to see all the art pieces the kids have done. I’m proud of our students, our school and our teachers,” Vavia said.

The art exhibition will be open until tomorrow. Parents are welcome to visit the exhibition at Apii Avarua Dome on Friday morning.
