Businesses are getting ready for the Mother’s Day rush.

Several businesses are doing special deals for the Thursday to Sunday period, while others are expecting good trade.

Furniture Centre managing director Ashleigh Rongo said they were expecting a decent amount of business over the next few days.

“We’ve got special deals on Fibre Silk pillows, while foam chip pillows are back in stock,” Rongo said.

“Cushions and other related items are also popular.”

Rongo said this was the time of year that products such as office furniture, and entertainment units were particularly popular, while people often purchased new beds as the country “heads into the cooler months”.

Other products likely to be popular included multi-purpose units and artificial plants.

“We’re expecting to be pretty busy throughout the Mother’s Day period,” she said.

Rongo said it usually held special sales on Mother’s Day, and they had proved to be popular in the past.

“Now that the weather is a bit cooler, people are looking for new beds,” she said.

“The pillows are always a big seller too. We’ve got it all set up, so come on down and celebrate Mother’s Day in style.”
