Another week of exciting games

The 2020 Cook Islands Games have reached the halfway mark.

The opening week of the Games saw some exciting battles as well as camaraderie between island teams vying for the overall title.

Boxing, rugby league Nines, 3x3 basketball, aquatics, touch rugby, paddling were among sports that were held in the opening week.

Medal ceremony for most of the events that finished last week were held on Saturday.

More exciting battles are anticipated this week in the remaining events.

Football started on Saturday and will run throughout this week.

Athletics, weightlifting and rugby 7s are some of the major events that will be held this week.

Touch Rugby medal results – Open Men’s: Gold Rarotonga, Silver Atiu, Bronze Aitutaki. Open Women’s: Gold - Mauke, Silver - Mitiaro, Bronze - Aitutaki. Masters: Gold Rarotonga, Silver - Mangaia, Bronze - Atiu.
