A good crowd of over 200 visitors and locals gathered at Teimurimotia Park in Titikaveka yesterday to witness the wonderful Nuku Day (Gospel Day) biblical drama presentations celebrating the arrival of Christianity to the Cook Islands.

Each of the six Ekalesia of the Cook Islands Christian Church (CICC) on Rarotonga performed their gospel dramas based on the theme “Te Oki Mai Nei a Iesu (Jesus is Coming Soon)”.

The Titikaveka Ekalesia hosted the Nuku celebrations this year, and their Member of Parliament, Sonny Williams, took on the role of emcee, keeping the audience entertained and informed, and ensuring the Ekalesia teams flowed into their drama acts.

Williams was happy with the good turnout at Nuku Day, the well-staged biblical dramas, the joyous singing, and the practical set-up of the marquees.

“We worked until midnight setting up and making sure everything was set properly for today,” he said yesterday.
