Ngapoe Urirau (left) won 1st prize for Year 8, and Terā-'itirere-ki-Avaiki “Mama Ra” Rongo won 1st prize for Year 7. Daru Graham (right) represented the Bank of the Cook Islands (BCI), the sponsors of the annual competition.
On Tuesday evening, the Year 6 students presented their speeches based on the theme of ‘Toku Reo Māori’, with Amarah Gribble from Apii Takitumu taking home the top prize.
