After a successful Boxing Day Tournament, the association is calling on teams to register for the Bluesky weekly touch league featuring open men’s, women’s, mixed, social mixed and masters competitions.
Cook Islands Touch Association president Daphne Brown says the Wednesday muster will be held from 5pm.
“Wednesday’s muster is open to any team (men’s, women’s, mixed) or persons interested in playing in the season competition.
“The muster is an opportunity for teams to get organised and for players looking to play before the season competition begins on January 20 for 12 weeks, playing over two nights, Monday and Wednesdays, at Nikao Field.”
Teams interested in competing in this year’s league can contact Brown on 54171 to register for the muster and for more details regarding the season competition.
She says the Cook Islands Touch committee will organise some games for the teams that turn up to the muster.
Meanwhile, RBDC won the Cook Islands Touch Boxing Day tournament title after beating Southcoast Scorpions in a close battle at The Swamp in Avatiu, a fortnight ago.
The pulsating showdown lived up to expectations as both teams exchanged tries and were tied 3-all with just seconds remaining on the clock.
RBDC, led by Conrad Piri and Jeff Holston, managed to clinch the winner just before the hooter to win the tournament.
The side received a trophy and credit vouchers courtesy of sponsors Bluesky Cook Islands.
