Experience won over youth at Monday night’s open touch rugby finals with the Bounty Hunters taking out the women’s division and Da Ropaz claiming the men’s champion’s title.

Da Ropaz proved too skilled for the enthusiastic Nukz Power crew who despite their valiant efforts couldn’t score against the experience Da Ropaz who ran away with the finals win 4-0.

In the women’s division – speed and skill was the winner on the day for the experienced Bounty Hunters crew who were made to work hard for their win by the young FBI crew.

Team FBI dotted down first before the Hunters organised themselves to win 5-2.

Third place in the women’s division went to team Kaos who edged out Kimiora 4-3 while the Itiki Power crew took out third place by a default win against the Western Stallions.

Today begins the play offs in the social and mixed touch division at the Nikao field.

In the social mixed division – team Telecom lead the competition followed by Mongoose, Justice, 1MFEM, BCI Transactions, MFEM Kings, Wackies and MOE.

In the open mixed division – the Northern Stormers is the team to beat sitting at the top of the table followed by the 007 crew, Nukz Power, Tereora College, Tumeke Smurfs, Live Smart, Maritime and Westpac.

Today’s games kick off at 5pm. 

Today’s draw – 5pm on field one- Wackies vs Mongoose, on field two-Tereora vs Tumeke Smurfs, 5:24pm on field one-Telecom vs MOE, on field two-007 vs Maritime Cook Islands, 5:48pm on field one-007 vsNukzPower, on field two-Justice vs MFEM Kings, 6:12pm on field one-BCI Transactions vs 1MFEM, on field two-Northern Stormers vs Westpac.
