The side will is yet to register a win despite coming close in recent matches.
Today Matavera-Ngatangiia will take on Nikao Sokattak with a hope breaking the winless drought. The two clubs will meet at the Takitumu School field in Matavera.
The Matavera-Ngatangiia women have come a long way and have made a lot of progress since the beginning of the season but the hunt for their first win this year has been long and hard.
However, after great recent performances against Tupapa and Puaikura, their chances of getting something on the board are looking good.
Their opponents Nikao Sokattak will not be an easy side and they will come all out to dash Matavera-Ngatangiia’s hope for a maiden win.
In the men’s match tomorrow, Matavera-Ngatangiia will be aiming to close the gap between them and fourth placed Titikaveka. In order to achieve that, the side will have to overcome a resilient Nikao Sokattak.
Nikao Sokattak have been dominant in their previous meetings and will head into the match as the top favourites.
Matavera’s young guns have speed together with skill and will need to use that to their advantage to create goal scoring opportunities. They will also have to tighten their defense to keep the quick Nikao attackers at bay.
Nikao Sokattak on the other hand will be focused on getting points on the table to improve their chances of taking the Round Cup Championship back from Tupapa.
They are behind on points and will need to win all their remaining games to have a chance at breaking their 10-year Round Cup drought.
