Titikaveka look confident to end Tupapa Maraerenga’s unbeaten run when they face off in the premier men’s division match at the Teimurimotia Park in Titikaveka this afternoon.

As the Tupapa Maraerenga rugby team showed, being unbeaten is not the same as being unbeatable, and at this stage of the competition they must keep any thoughts of the finals out of their heads.

Any complacency will work to Titikaveka’s favour, and they could exploit their opponents if they are looking several games into the future.

No matter the outcome, the affair is sure to be a cagey one as both coaches will need to balance playing with reckless abandon.

Tuaine Papatua believes that his side has the capacity to beat any team in the top-flight and holds no fear as they confront table-toppers Tupapa Maraerenga.

However, he also admits that despite the slight improvement in his team’s performance, a date with the number one placed team presents a different challenge for his team.

But should they topple the black and white juggernaut, this vibrant crop of players could receive the confidence boost they need to launch an assault on the top four.

The Tupapa Maraerenga squad that they’ll face is sound, and always plays with energy and a purpose that eclipses each team they challenge.

They look confident with their style of play, and have thrived, both when going forward in attack and dominating their opponents on defence.

A win for Titikaveka is crucial in their bid to escape relegation as the season enters the home stretch, while a victory for Tupapa Maraerenga will see them maintain pole position.
