The Avatiu senior women’s team host fierce rivals Nikao Sokattack at the Avatiu field today in what should be an exhilarating clash.

It is perhaps the game with the highest stakes of the season for the home side, with there being much more to play for than points alone.

Neither side has any suspensions or injuries and for the most part, will be fielding strong starting teams.

Avatiu and Nikao Sokattak will engage in a battle where the two teams are at the opposite ends of the log standings.

Nikao Sokattak are sitting on second place, while Avatiu occupy the third spot from the bottom.

In their last encounter Avatiu suffered a crushing defeat to Nikao Sokattak 5-0, but will be hoping to bounce back from that with a win over their rivals.

Recent form goes strongly in the favour of Nikao Sokattak however, as Avatiu have achieved three victories in their past seven fixtures. But of course anything can happen in football.

Based on previous encounters, and how the two seem to soundly counter each other in terms of attack and defence, expect a hard-hitting draw.
