The day started with V1 250 and 500 metres races followed by the V6 events.
Unfavourable conditions including rain failed to deter the paddlers from local and overseas teams from putting on a good show.
Local clubs that took part in the under-14, U16 and U19 competitions include Aitutaki Oe Vaka, Ngakau Toa Vaka and Te Tupu O Te Manava.
Aitutaki used the junior competition in preparation for next year’s World Sprints in Australia.
The Oe Mapu ended with a prize giving, dinner and Powerade Carnival Beach Party which was held last night in Nikao.
