Historic medal for Cook Islands

Team Cook Islands won it’s first ever medal in the Commonwealth Games, thanks to the brilliance of bowling pair Aidan Zittersteijn and Taiki Paniani.

A new super heavyweight champion was crowned on Wednesday night when Queensland-based Samson Teremoana defeated local boxing hero Osalai Akai in the Battle of Champions programme at a packed National Auditorium. 

Cook Islands bowling pair Aidan Zittersteijn and Taiki Paniani made a superb start to their campaign at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast on Wednesday (CI time).
