The first day of tennis was a spectacular one in the Mitiaro Manea Games, as the top talent in the competition shone through.

Empowering Rarotonga youth was the uniting theme for some of the participants in tonight’s Raro Rumble, the charity fight night that will be held at the Avatiu sports ground.

The competition in the Manea Games 2017 in Mitiaro is slowly intensifying with island teams going all out to improve on their standings on the medal tally.

In Pool A last week, Kia Orana Salon were disappointed not to have pulled an upset over TEAM as they outscored their opponents for most of the game, but eventually the class of the Prime Foods Mixed Social League Volleyball shone through.

The Cook Islands 12 and under tennis team made a brilliant start to their campaign in the Petits Requins du Pacifique tournament in Noumea, New Caledonia last week.

Atiu has taken an early lead in the 2017 Manea Games which started yesterday in Mitiaro.
