The Ngatangiia - Matavera Sea Eagles Club celebrated their success in the 2019 season in style at the Muri Clubhouse on Saturday.

 

The Sea Eagles premier team claimed the Raro Cars Rugby League Competition 2019 title after beating the 2018 champions Tupapa Panthers 26-6 in the final earlier this month.

The win was extra special for the side which completed the season without any loss from the preliminary rounds through to the knockouts.

Players, club officials and supporters gathered over the weekend to celebrate the success and reward the hard working players and team management for their effort.

Papua New Guinean import Mel Isaac claimed the Player of the Year award as well as Top Tackler and Most Valuable Player awards.

The 2019 Inspirational Player Award went to Stanley Olo while fellow Papua New Guinean Ben Wemin received the 2019 Consistent Player Award.

Sea Eagles skipper Daniel Toa won the 2019 Premiers Captain Award as well as the 2018 Premiers Most Valuable Player and 2018 Player of the Year awards.
