Some questions about the judging
A question: Why did some of the Te Maeva Nui judges walk out before Nukuroa finished their item and return after Aitu had started theirs? And how is it that one group already knew they had two wins in the bag?
Could someone tell a certain new minister how to behave at official gatherings - ie don’t sit with your feet up on the chair and don’t be on Facebook when a group is performing.
WHERE’S THE BUS?
After a couple of performers fainted at the Te Maeva Nui competition on Tuesday night. So how come the Ministry of Health’s flash new fancy mobile health clinic bus wasn’t parked up on site to be used for those that might need medical help. Seems that the bus has just become a permanent fixture in the carpark in Tupapa. Sad really.
You would think after all these years of having Te Maeva Nui, float parades, celebrations for our independence and the like, that our Ministry of Culture would be a well-oiled machine when it comes to Te Maeva Nui celebrations and all that it entails. Guess not. I believe most of the higher positions have been held by the same people for years, but yet there seems to always be something needing vast improvement. It happens every year at the same time of the year and at the same place every year, why can’t we get it right?
