Dear Editor,

When the former secretary of health announced a new system of making appointment times if one is visiting the hospital’s outpatient ward, I and many others said hallelujah! But a couple of years after, the appointment system is a joke.

With a pre-booked appointment time to see the doctor, one can expect to wait for 10-15 minutes but not an hour or more.

This waiting time may be OK for public servants but it’s a lot of lost production to private sector workers and companies.

Can the Minister look into this and find out why the health ministry cannot operate a simple appointment system?

I can only guess that either too many health staff are not coming to work on time or do not understand what a work schedule is.
