In support of new lagoon cruise on Aitutaki

Re Saturday’s smoke signaller who asked why Koka Lagoon Cruises is taking its business to Aitutaki.

Shouldn’t you check your facts before going to print with something that isn’t correct?  Koka Lagoon Cruises is not extending its business to Aitutaki, and does not have any plans to. The Story family launched their lagoon cruise in Aitutaki recently, and our Koka crew paid their own way to Aitutaki as they wanted to be there to support the launch and entertain.

Alfred Story with his partner Taylor Hunter have recently moved to Aitutaki to have a go at getting their family cruise business off the ground together with other members of Alfred’s family.

We are very happy to see our young people returning to the Cook Islands to try and set themselves up.

Why do some of our Cook Islands people like to try to pull down the achievements of other Cook Islanders? It’s really beyond me.

Editor’s note: The smoke signal in question came from a usually reliable source and slipped through without close checking. For that, we apologise. It’s also a timely reminder to smoke signallers to ensure their contributions are completely accurate.
