Cook Islands Meteorological Services staff members attended a training for weather and communication systems in Hawaii earlier this week.

According to the Pacific International Training Desk, Tehira Winchester and Bouchard Solomona were at the first training of the year at the Hawaii site.

They are accompanied by Tuvalu’s Limoni Mativa and Taumalea Kalepo spending time in Honolulu at the University of Hawaii Manoa.

The Pacific International Training Desk (PITD; Pacific Desk) provides one-on-one basic weather forecast training focusing on operational forecasting to enable the student to prepare and disseminate locally produced meteorological, hydrologic and climate products for their home countries.
