The Atiu community in Rarotonga is holding another fundraiser tonight to collect funds to help with the completion of their hostel on the island.

The group is organising an Atiu Island Night at the Rarotongan Resort from 6pm.

While thanking the people for supporting their earlier fundraiser, general secretary of the Atiu hostel project, Nga Teao-Papatua says they need more money to complete their project. The million dollar Atiu hostel which is next to the National Auditorium is due to open on December 18.

“We are organising this fundraiser to collect more money to complete our project. We are hoping for a good turnout,” Teao-Papatua says.

The island night will feature cultural shows from the Atiu cultural team and the Te Korero Maori culture group.

The show will also feature a special guest.

“We want to acknowledge the support of Tata Crocombe and all the staff at the Rarotongan for their support towards this worthy cause.”

Tickets, which will include dinner, will cost $50 each.

“Anyone who is interested in supporting us in this worthy cause can contact me on 53467.”
