Half of the government’s Cabinet ministers are out of the country this week.


Prime minister Henry Puna is still in Malta where he is leading the Cook Islands delegation to the fourth edition of “Our Ocean” conference.

In Malta, he signed two agreements, cementing Cook Islands diplomatic relations with Malta and a funding agreement with the European Union to help with the sanitation programme.

Health minister Nandi Glassie, who was in Fiji last week to attend the 6th Pacific Ministers for Women and the 13th Triennial Conference of Pacific Women, will be in Brisbane this week.

He is attending the World Health Organisation 68th Regional Committee Western Pacific which started yesterday (CI time) and ends on Thursday.

Finance minister Mark Brown is also out of the country in the Maldives, attending a high level renewable energy meeting this week.

Deputy prime minister Teariki Heather will be in Mitiaro today, attending the opening of the Manea Games.
