Newly-appointed health minister Rose Brown will this morning make her first public appearance as a Minister of the Crown since her appointment on Thursday of last week.

Brown will deliver the keynote address at the 20th Annual Cook Islands Health Conference 2018 at the National Auditorium, starting at 8.30am.

The Teenui-Mapumai MP, who won the 2018 election as an independent candidate, sided with the Cook Islands Party after agreeing to join the caretaker government.

The health conference, themed “Celebrating Knowledge”, will focus on non-communicable diseases, research, mental health and family health (children, youth, men and women).

The conference will run until Friday. A similar conference will be held in Aitutaki at the Vaipae Sports Community Centre on Monday and Tuesday next week.
