The business mentors concept continues to gain momentum with the organisers, Chamber of Commerce, hoping to develop more local entrepreneurs through the programme in the near future.

Chamber of Commerce held training for the upcoming entrepreneurs at the Cook Islands Tertiary Training Institute last night.

Chamber executive director Lynne Samuel says those who missed the recent programme can always contact them for more information.

“We normally have about 10 people attending the programme. It is designed for upcoming entrepreneurs,” Samuel says.

“This programme is to help them learn more about business. Our aim is to help excel the industry in the country.”

Samuel says they are also putting an emphasis on the growth of agriculture business in the Cook Islands.

She says they want the sector to thrive in the future.

“We have mentors who come from New Zealand voluntarily to help us in this programme. They share their experience and knowledge to the participants in the programme.”
