Police are reminding motorcyclists of the looming helmet law when shipments arrive this coming month.
For now, Police are offering an amnesty to those who haven’t been able to comply with the new compulsory helmet law, because of delays in the arrival of helmet stocks.
Spokesperson Trevor Pitt said the enforcement would kick in after the shipment arrived.
Meanwhile, police have been issuing warnings at checkpoints, and noting down drivers’ reasons for not wearing one.
Students were already required to wear helmets and must continue to do so, Pitt said.
Importers such as Raromart and the Motor Centre had advised police of further shipments scheduled during July.
The amnesty will run until midnight on July 31.
