Rape inquiry continues

The police investigation into the brutal rape which allegedly took place in the early hours of Saturday last week, is still underway with no suspects yet arrested.


 “Once again, we seek the assistance of the community to help us in solving this crime,” Detective Inspector Areumu Ingaua said.

If you have any information leading to the apprehension of the person responsible, please contact the police.

“In particular, if you had seen a woman wearing a pink/red dress after the closing of the Hideaway (Hidies) bar and getting on a motor cycle with someone, please contact the police.  “This piece of evidence is crucial to our investigation.”

Anyone with information regarding any of the above incidents should call the Cook Islands Police Service on emergency number 999 or 22499.
