Grab your popcorn, ice cream and Vaiora!

There will be something for everyone’s viewing pleasure on offer at Empire Cinema from tonight.

The cinema has been closed since March due to Covid-19 and the implementation of social distancing measures by Te Marae Ora.

After a spruce-up, where the lights were changed and some general maintenance work was completed, Empire opened for business on Thursday July 16 with Trolls World Tour for the kids during the first week of the school holidays and later viewings of Bloodshot for the grown-ups.

Bloodshot is a 2020 American superhero film starring Vin Diesel.

It is based on the Valiant Comics character of the same name and is intended to be the first instalment in a series of films set within a Valiant Comics shared cinematic universe. From Thursday to Sunday, Bloodshot will be screened at 6.30pm and from Sunday to Wednesday at 6pm.

If horror movies are more to your liking, Empire Cinema’s latest offering is Follow Me where a social media star travels with his friends to Moscow to capture new content for his successful VLOG.

Always pushing the limits and catering to a growing audience, he and his friends enter a deadly game filled with mystery, excess, and danger.
