Two great acts celebrating great music and brilliant improvised comedy will perform on Rarotonga next week – thanks to local entertainment promoters, Motone.

Los Angeles-based Kiwi music legend Greg Johnson will be in Rarotonga performing at Sails restaurant on Wednesday April 13.

As part of Sails’ 25th anniversary celebrations, Greg Johnson will perform a concert in the restaurant. Over the years, Johnson has toured and played with many music greats including Dave Dobbyn, The Wallflowers, Lloyd Cole, The Corrs, 10,000 Maniacs, Ben King, and The Exponents and rose to fame in his own band, The Greg Johnson Set. He continues to tour frequently in New Zealand, USA and Europe and produces artists and soundtracks from his studio in Santa Monica.

Having written and co-written several songs and  released many albums  and his concert will be a celebration of great musical and songwriting ability.

Since moving to the USA, Johnson has written songs for TV shows including The Hills', Party Of Five, Beautiful People, High School Reunion and Road Rules. Film soundtracks include 50 Pills and Entry Level. Johnson has also written songs and commercial soundtracks for See Political, the California Natural History Museum, and the show Castle.

On Friday April 15 at Coco Putt Motone will set the scene for a show of great comedy with the acclaimed Improv Bandits  New Zealand’s improv comedy sensation.

Showcasing their traditional high-energy. The Improv Bandits will be bringing to Rarotonga three of  the best improv actors in New Zealand, headed by double world improv champion Wade Jackson.

The Improv Bandits go out on stage having no idea what they’re going to do and say next! Constantly revolving, the show is always fresh, for themselves and audience alike.

The recipe for The Improv Bandits's success is how they work together as a team. With a motto of “no scripts, no gimmicks, no safety net” they can’t afford to let egos and imaginations battle on stage. The Improv Bandits have a reputation as one of most exciting comedy shows ever to come out of New Zealand – so be sure to catch them while they’re here.

Both shows are $20.00 per ticket and we recommend you book a table for dinner and make a real night of it. Tickets available from the venues: for Greg Johnson , Sails Restaurant phone 27349 and for Improv Bandits, Cocoputt on 27181.
