Te Aponga Uira staff have been out and about fixing faulty street lights across Rarotonga.

The company is the main supplier of electricity on the island, responsible for 90 per cent of the Cook Islands’ electricity generation.

Senior linesman Rourau Tangimetua who was accompanied by linesman Noovao Raitai outside Moana Gems said they were fixing faulty lights around the island.

“We are nearly finished and only have four more left to go. There were about 17 lights all together that needed fixing,” Tangimetua said.

“We’ve got one here in town, one in Tupapa, and one up at the hospital, and then it’s home time.”
