The students at Imanuela Akatemia enjoyed a special breakfast at school last week, compliments of CITC Avarua.

The students gathered outside their classrooms and along the school’s porch area for this special breakfast before carrying on with their school work.

Each class was given a supply of cereals, Fonterra milk, sugar, and BioPak bowls and spoons. CITC had supplied this as part of their Primary School Breakfast Event in which they are offering all primary schools around Rarotonga some breakfast products to promote the importance of breakfast.

The supplies for the day were delivered by Jane Wichman, the sales and distribution manager for CITC and Vicky Vaineritua, trade manager for CITC. They came to the school to officially hand over the breakfast products to the students.

Ramola Laithplang, who is a teacher for the Early Childhood Education class at the school, said: “Most of the students were aware that they were going to have breakfast the next morning. Some of them didn’t have breakfast and they informed their parents.”

While the rest of the students enjoyed their morning treat, there were some who didn’t like the Fonterra milk and were asking for more milk zaps (flavoured milk) as one was not enough, obviously enjoying the novelty of it all and wanting more.

Diravuiwasa Senibiakula, office manager for the school, said: “The students and staff were all excited for this event and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and we would like to thank CITC for their awesome breakfast.”
