Cook Islands Touch Association is urging interested teams to register for Beach Touch competition at the upcoming Beach Games to be held from January 6-21, 2023.

The 3x3 Basketball, Beach Handball, 4x4 Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer, Air Badminton and Beach Netball are the others sports to feature at the annual event.

Registration closes on December 19.

Cook Islands Touch president Julieanne Westrupp said the categories in the Beach Touch will include Under-18s, Open and Masters – all mixed.

Touch will be played from Monday, January 9 to 12.

“All you need is eight players, two females on attack and a female on defense at all times. Sex of players in your team is totally up to you. Three women and five men is good or four and four is also good.

“If you want to have some fun playing in the sand, diving on the sand - give it a go.”

Registration fee is $10 per player and this can be paid to Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee (CISNOC).

If you would like to put in a family team, a circle of friends team, a club team, you can contact Raukura Ellison on phone 24095 or email her on rellison@cisnoc.org.ck or contact Julz Westrupp on mobile 55055 or email her on jwestrupp@vodafone.co.ck.

“Teams are limited so don’t wait till the last minute. Start 2023 with a bang!”
