Rarotonga football competition intensifies

Tupapa Maraerenga football side continued its unbeaten run in the premier men’s competition beating Matavera 3-0 on Friday.

The round four matches in the 2022 Rarotonga football season was held last week with some exciting battles especially in the premier men’s and senior women’s divisions.

In the Tower Insurance premier men’s division, Matavera-Ngatangiia went head to head with football giants Tupapa Maraerenga on Friday.

Tupapa came away with a 3-0 win to extend their lead on the points table.

In the other premier men’s matches played on Saturday, defending champions Nikao Sokattak thumped Puaikura 4-0 while the Avatiu and Titikaveka match ended in a nil-all draw.

In The Islander senior women’s division, Matavera managed to hold defending champions Tupapa Maraerenga 1-all on Friday.

On Saturday, the Avatiu versus Titikaveka match ended in a stalemate (nil-all draw) while Puaikura defeated Nikao Sokattak 1-0.
