The seventh round of the Rarotonga Football Season saw an action-packed series of matches across different age groups and categories, featuring Titikaveka FC, Tupapa FC, Nikao FC, Matavera FC, Puaikura FC, and Avatiu FC.

Tensions ran high as players battled it out for glory and a step closer to the coveted prize.

In the Under-8 category, Titikaveka FC and Tupapa FC displayed a strong defensive game as neither team managed to break the deadlock resulting in a 0-0 draw. Nikao FC faced off against Matavera FC in a thrilling match that ended with Matavera FC emerging victorious 5-3. Puaikura FC and Avatiu FC played to a 2-2 draw in yet another exciting match.

The U10 matches were equally nail-biting with Titikaveka FC showing their prowess by defeating Tupapa FC 6-4. Nikao FC locked horns with Matavera FC in a tightly contested game which resulted in a 2-2 draw. Meanwhile, Avatiu FC edged out Puaikura FC with a narrow 4-3 win.

In the U12 category, Tupapa FC trampled over Titikaveka FC with an impressive 4-0 victory. Nikao FC delivered a dominant performance against Matavera FC with a staggering scoreline of 6-1. However, Avatiu FC stole the show by thrashing Puaikura FC in a resounding 9-0 win.

The U15 Girls’ matches showcased resilience when Titikaveka fought hard against Tupapa to secure a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, Nikao stood firm to beat Matavera 2-0 while Puaikura and Avatiu showcased their determination to settle for 1-1 draw.

The U15 Boys’ matches were electric with Titikaveka FC overpowering Tupapa FC 5-1 in an intense battle. Matavera FC managed to squeeze a hard-fought victory over Nikao FC with a scoreline of 1-0, while Avatiu FC overwhelmed Puaikura FC in a 7-0 landslide triumph.

In the U18 Men’s division, Tupapa FC displayed an unmatched performance by thumping Titikaveka FC in an impressive 6-0 victory. A neck-to-neck encounter between Nikao FC and Matavera FC ended in a fair 2-2 draw, whilst Avatiu FC made short work of Puaikura FC with yet another dominant score of 6-0.

The Senior Women’s category saw an unexpected turn of events as the match between Titikaveka FC and Tupapa FC was postponed. However, Matavera FC clinched a close victory against Nikao FC in a remarkable 1-0 win, whereas Avatiu ensured its supremacy over Puaikura, concluding the match with a score of 2-1.

In the Premier Men’s division, Tupapa outclassed Titikaveka with two stunning goals to secure their victory. Nikao continued their incredible form, leaving no chance for Matavera by scoring six unbeatable goals. In the last game of this intense round, Puaikura narrowly defeated Avatiu by one goal, wrapping up round seven in style.

As round seven ended, clubs are now eyeing the next set of matches that will further determine their standings and championship aspirations. With spirits high and skills sharper than ever, new techniques gained, Rarotonga can expect to see some exciting talents coming through.
