Letter: MPs travel details

Dear Editor, I read with interest the travel details of our Government MPs. Would it be possible to ask that the powers that be, not lump all the expenditure into one pot. If some of this travel is by invitation i.e. sponsorship for the fares and accommodation, it is not very transparent when its treated as a tiopu.

This is not transparent at all. Take the trip listed to Mongolia by Tehani and Tinikaa that was funded, by how much and what was the trip for? Are we introducing "yurts or yaks" to Atiu & Pukapuka? On a similar note what was the Leader of the Opposition Mrs Browne spending $53693.15 on?  That represents $778.16 for each of the 69 voters on Rakahunga roll in 2022 election. Was it one trip or a series of trips and what were the outcomes? Looking for transparency.
