Letter: Giving credit where it’s due

Dear Editor, As one of the original complainants about noisy bike mufflers, and dangerous/stunch riders, let me publicly commend the Akava for their very strong response to closing down the noisy/dangerous bike riding hoons who have been terrorising our roads for far too long.

While I did not witness any confiscations personally, I have been reliably informed that quite a number of police bikes and support vehicles were out and about over the weekend, resulting in a number of illegal bikes being taken off the road, presumably impounded, until they are brought back to legal and acceptable levels of noise.

Again, I commend the Police for their actions, and hopefully this will continue until all illegal bikes, and dangerous stunchers are removed from our roads.

Kia manuia,

Andy Olah
