Making a splash: Weather office predicts ‘odd heavy rainfall’

Despite the heavy rain yesterday, cousins Ordine Nga, Gabriella Napa and Nancy Mataio set out to enjoy a swim at the Avarua Harbour.

Nga, who is holidaying in Rarotonga, says she has enjoyed her stay with family and friends.

She has spent most of her days swimming near the Trader Jacks and enjoys it.

Nga returns to Australia later this month.

Meanwhile Cook Islands Meteorological Services director Arona Ngari says the weather forecast shows there will be some passing showers until later today with the odd heavy fall for the period.

The Met Office weather update shows that the Southern Cook Islands including Rarotonga will experience more rain due to a low-pressure system and few thunderstorms.
