A radiothon will be held today to fundraise for Cook Islanders and Niuean families who have been affected by the devastating Auckland floods last week.

Organised by the Cook Islands Niue Community and Friends Incorporated with the support of the Cook Islands Red Cross Society, the radiothon, hosted by Nga Teao-Papatua, will be heard on Radio Cook Islands from 12 noon to 6pm.

“We are asking for our generous Cook Islanders, Niuean’s and the community to donate big or small to our people in Auckland,” said Sisi Short, on behalf of the Niuean community.

“They were generous to us during the Covid pandemic and towards the fundraisers we ask for, so this is the time to give a little and help our families there especially the ones who may not have insurance.”

Short said she was prepared to donate through Pasifika TV, but thought a radiothon may serve better to help affected families in Auckland.
