Schools culture festival starts tonight

Rarotonga’s biggest and best school culture festival will grace the stage at the Are Karioi National Auditorium over two nights starting this evening at 6pm.

The theme for this year is “Te Au Manu Puapinga a Toku Matakei'nanga/ Enua – The important animals and birds of my tribe/islands”.   

Tonight the Opening Hymn will be sung by Papaaroa School followed by guest speaker Maara Scheel - Chair Lady of Rarotonga Schools Cultural Festival Committee 2021 and Minister of Education Vaine “Mac” Mokoroa.

In order of appearance Apii Takitumu will be first on stage followed by Apii Te Uki Ou and a brief intermission (20 minutes).

Apii Arorangi will lead after intermission, then Apii Avarua and Nukutere College, the event is expected to finish about 8.30pm.

Tomorrow Thursday the Opening Hymn will be sung at 6pm by Apii Imanuela Akatemia, followed by entertainment from Apii Rutaki, Apii St Joseph’s, Apii Nikao, 20 minute intermission, closing off with Titikaveka College and Tereora College.
