Three roadside crashes were reported to police in the weekend, with one resulting in the death of a 24-year-old man in Titikaveka.

It is understood that two men were on a motorbike and crashed at a side road intersection.

Police spokesperson Trevor Pitt said the deceased suffered a severe injury causing death.

Pitt said they were finalising witness statements and high speed was a major factor in the crash. There was a 27-year-old male survivor.

The first road fatality for 2023 was recorded in April when a 48-year-old died in a motor vehicle crash, also in Titikaveka.

Meanwhile, Pitt said in another road incident, a 19-year-old male crashed his motorbike on early Saturday morning at Ruaau. It was an alcohol-related crash.

The third road incident was reported near Muri TEM Store at 12.33pm on Sunday where a car drove onto the main road and collided with a motorcyclist.

Pitt added that police responded to multiple complaints of excessive noise, throughout Friday and Saturday night, into Sunday morning. Ten complaints were filed.

There were three incidents of theft reported and one incident of a man being bitten by a dog in Atupa on early Friday evening.
