A man charged with failing to stop on demand and refusing to undergo a breath test will defend himself.
Takai Banaba was asked if he had sought legal advice since his last appearance.
He said it was his intention to represent himself.
Police confirmed he had been given relevant documentation and they were waiting to see what his intentions were.
The matter was adjourned to August 22 for a defended hearing.
