A woman charged with theft has elected to have her case heard by a jury.

Sina Sostris Daniel entered a not guilty plea and elected a trial by judge and jury through her lawyer Norman George.

Justice of the Peace John Whitta asked if the charge was open for a jury trial with George responding it was quite a substantial amount.

She was told not to leave the Cook Islands before the matter was adjourned for a date to be organised by the registrar.
