Two brothers appeared in court on the same day both charged with drink driving related matters.

Kaiea and Teautabo Ariu were called in the Criminal Court on Thursday where Kaiea was the first to be called to the stand.

The court heard he faced an excess breath alcohol and careless driving charge.

Justice of the Peace John Whitta said on February 3 he had carelessly driven a car causing injury to two people.

He was also breathalysed and blew 920 micrograms per litre of breath.

Kaiea entered guilty pleas to both charges.

Defence lawyer Norman George said the matter would have to go before a Judge then asked for a probation report.

He also asked for a medical report to outline the injuries sustained.

JP Whitta adjourned the matter for a date to be set and a probation report was ordered.

Teautabo appeared later in the morning charged with excess breath alcohol where George said he had been instructed to enter a guilty plea on behalf his client.

George said Teautabo wanted another week to allow time to gather references.

A guilty plea was entered and a probation report ordered before the matter was adjourned to May 10.
