The Webb Ellis Rugby World Cup is a big deal!

This is the first time the Webb Ellis Cup has travelled outside New Zealand since the All Blacks won it last year and the Cook Islands public are encouraged to get out on the roads today and support the rugby union spectacle.

All Black star Jerome Kaino will be showing off the cup in the parade – so feel free to stop and get a snapshot with the star and the coveted RWC.

The parade will start at 3.50pm from the Takamoa Theological College drive and proceed through Avarua to the Rarotonga International Airport then back to the Town Market opposite the ANZ Bank.

At the market there will be a presentation of the cup where the public will have more opportunities to have photos taken with the cup and Kaino.

Live music and performances by Te Rau Maire Dance team will entertain the crowd in between photo sessions and handshakes with the Kaino.

Food stalls will be available to feed hungry fans and supporters.

Businesses along the Avarua main road and schools are encouraged to come out in numbers to support this event staged to acknowledge and recognise the support that the Cook Islands has given to the mighty All Blacks and the Rugby World Cup campaign.
