The Cook Islands Aquatics Federation will run the open water national swimming championships this Saturday at Muri.

The three-kilometre swim course will be across the beautiful Muri lagoon and will start at 11 oclock on Saturday morning.

The early start time is due to the fact that high tide will be at 9.40 that morning.

While there will no doubt be some tough competition lining up for the swim the event will be a fun family affair with some fun events being planned for kids after the swim.

There will be lolly scrambles and a sausage sizzle and all are invited to join the swimming family for a fun day out on the beach and water.

You dont have to be a registered aquatics federation member just rock up with your swim gear and kids and join in the fun.
