Volleyball spikes off

This afternoon sees the start of the 10-week Vonnias Corporate Mixed 6 volleyball league at the Telecom Sports Arena at 4.30pm.

A special opening ceremony will be held for the event at 4.30pm followed by the first spike off at 5pm.

A total of 24 teams have registered for this exciting tournament with three games to be played at once in the TSA to provide loads of action for spectators.

Everyone is welcome to come up to the TSA and enjoy playing and watching social mixed volleyball with a $2 entry fee for all players and spectators. Food and drinks will be on sale.

Meanwhile a Constitution Day volleyball tournament was held at the TSA on Wednesday where 7 women and 6 men’s team took part.

In the end the Puaikura team cleaned up in the women’s division followed by Aitutaki in second place and Mauke in third.

In the men’s division – Rakahanga were kings of the court while Takitumu was a close second and Rama third.

So get on up to the TSA this afternoon for some action packed volleyball games.
