The development of volleyball in the Cook Islands has been given a major boost by sponsors who’ve come on board to help the sport purchase new equipment.

Funds from volleyball’s major sponsor, BCI Bank, and from a group of enthusiastic volleyball lovers has enabled the association to purchase 30 international standard balls.

When the volleyball association was revived this season, there were only four balls available and four more were borrowed in order to begin reviving the sport.

Now the association has 30 new international standard balls that will go a very long way to ensure the sports longevity in the Cooks.

Volleyball association vice president Brendon Heath thanked BCI for their continued support of the sport.

Heath also extended a big meitaki maata to new and individual sponsors Nana McKinley, Terry Rangi, Harriet Raui, Makea Pauka, Nathalie Rossette-Cazel and her company Lexact plus the Alliance Francaise.

“The new equipment is much appreciated and will help with the development of volleyball,” says Brendon.
