Turtles dig in at top

Turtles Diggz 96-67 win against the Smashing T team in last Friday’s fifth round of the Vonnia’s Corporate 6 on 6 volleyball league has enabled them to stay at the top of the table in the competition.

But it was team Te Vara Nui that was the stand out team of the night achieving the highest scores of the night with 118 points. The team smashed opponents Turtles Fani Totoys who managed to score 50 points.

Second highest scoring team of the night was CITC Smackdownz on 113 points.

The Top Kopz weren’t able to break their 75-all tie with Westpac No Pacz and settled for a draw instead.

The match between Te Aponga Sparkz and RMD Spikers (1) was played with much laughter and sportsmanship spirit with the RMD Spikers edging out team Sparkz 87-82.

And after round five – Turtle Diggz remain at the top of the table followed by CITC Smackdownz, Stingers in third, Vonnias Vikings in 4th and Te Vara Nui shooting up into 5th place.

Overall it was another great night of volleyball action at the Telecom Sports Arena which will continue this Friday.
