The new triathlon season starts on Thursday, November 17, and its the perfect time for anyone who has thought about trying out the multi-discipline sport to give it a go.

The season includes a number of events from Thursday evening duathlons and aquathons to Saturday afternoon triathlons.

As the season begins on a Thursday a 2km run, 8km cycle and final 1km run duathlon course has been organised.

There will also be a longer course of a 3km run, 16km cycle and 3km run on offer for regular triathletes already in training for half ironman races in New Zealand.

This seasons duathlon meets will be held from the new venue in Panama opposite the Motor Centre.

The venue means more varied courses for athletes including short and long loops of the airport and as the season progresses the hospital hill climb will feature in the courses.

Apart from getting fit weekly duathlon, aquathon and triathlon meets are fun and relaxed events that allow athletes to either complete the course on offer or just do what you want.

The current Westpac cycle series finishes on Wednesday, November 9.

New and returning athletes are reminded that the Cook Islands Triathlon Association membership fee is just $20 a year and allows you to be part of the weekly organised events.

So, gear up for another fun and exciting triathlon season.
